As a leader in securing credentials, Giesecke + Devrient is seeking a Merging and Inserting Lead Operator to join our growing team in Twinsburg, OH. We are an established organization with a strong global presence and excellent reputation as one of the leaders in our industry.The Merging and Inserting Lead Operator is a skilled position and requires in-depth knowledge of processes and equipment throughout the work area assigned. The Merging and Inserting Lead Operator can perform set up and operation of all equipment in their assigned area and will be responsible to train all employees on the safe and efficient operation of equipment including set up and troubleshooting as necessary.The Operator follows a detailed schedule for jobs to be fulfilled on time and in full. The Operator ensures that all products are fulfilled in accordance with applicable quality standards, and any substandard products are scrapped and remade.The position requires close attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, a solid customer focus, a sharp technical aptitude, good communications skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieves daily throughput and quality goals by maintaining uptime and accuracy of equipment
Performs daily/weekly preventive maintenance on machinery according to maintenance procedures defined by OEM and maintenance department
Operates the card attaching, carrier printing, and inserting equipment, and other equipment in the Service Bureau as required
Reads and understands operator instruction manuals and training documents
Works with Material Handlers and Warehouse to ensure machinery always has raw materials for next batch or job to minimize downtime due to batch change.
Serves as subject matter expert for machinery. Works with engineering, quality, maintenance and operations teams to escalate issues and resolve them.
Participates in the Train the Trainer program.
Completes training provided by employer and the equipment OEM, adjusting working hours if necessary to attend trainings.
Leads new Operators through the training process. This includes reviewing written procedures, supporting on the job training, knowledge checks, and signing off on the readiness of new Operators.
Works with Operations and IT to identify and resolve issues with setup and job files
Recommends ideas to increase quality, availability, and productivity
Responsible for selection of data as per daily production schedule
Accurately completes all quality checks and counts to ensure conformance to company standards
Maintains machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition at all times
Contributes to development of continuous improvement culture, including 5S implementation
Adhere to all safety regulations with regard to company policies and legal regulations
Produce high quality products in a timely manner with lowest scrap possible
Adhere to applicable ISO Work Instructions and properly complete production forms
Accountabilities:
Responsible for accurate completion of all job orders.
Ensures Production schedule is followed and Service Level attained
Ensures correct card specifications are adhered to
Trains and supports Operators
Compliance with Corporate and Local departmental KPI's and Quality standards.
Job Specifications:
Work performed in a fast-paced production setting.
Required to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and reach and move about facility.
Wearing of company furnished smock is mandatory.
Occasional travel, including international.
Requires normal hand, eye, and walking coordination.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma
Greater than 6 months experience operating equipment in a personalization or fulfillment department is preferred
Experience in training others is preferred
Mathematical ability required
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, IQ is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast pace and demanding environment
