Our Energy Division is currently seeking a Sr. Program Manager. This position is located in Columbus, OH.

Battelle's Energy Technology Global Business has been at the forefront of carbon sequestration research and demonstration operations for several years to demonstrate the technical and economic viability of this technology as an option for mitigating climate change, both through our leadership in the Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Program for the Department of Energy as well as in several commercial endeavors. We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead strategic programs as we expand our team and services to support rapid growth in large-scale carbon sequestration operations.

Position Description
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the successful execution and growth of strategic carbon management programs and for establishing and maintaining client relationships. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills and be perceived by clients and peers as a leader who provides value. The individual should also have a relevant technical background and experience in planning and managing projects involving or analogous to carbon sequestration, including activities such as geologic characterization, deep well site design and analysis, well drilling, injection operations, and monitoring and verification analysis. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership qualities and a successful track record in developing and completing initiatives.

Position Responsibilities
- Manage technical, cost, and schedule issues associated with the installation and operation of deep wells for geologic storage of carbon dioxide
- Organize and implement characterization and field projects, including scheduling and mobilizing staff, selecting vendors, and managing performance to meet cost and schedule deadlines
- Provide support to business development and proposal activities for geologic carbon dioxide storage opportunities for Battelle Energy Technology clients

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

- Master's Degree in Engineering, Geology, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years work experience within the environmental, engineering, oil and gas or carbon sequestration industries.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing related technically and organizationally complex programs, involving multiple subcontractors, multiple diverse activities combining computational, laboratory, and field-based work
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with senior management and scientific staff internally and within client organizations, subcontractors, and consulting forums


THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

- Project Management Professional, Engineering Project, Engineering Management Certification Professional, or equivalent
- Awareness of the evolving regulatory environment of climate change and carbon management, particularly EPA regulations on CO2 sequestration wells.
- 10 years of experience managing complex projects for oil and gas companies or managing carbon sequestrations programs
