The Finance function is responsible for partnering closely with business leaders in the Corporate Center, H/R, Finance, Risk, RRG, and Legal lines of business to drive business strategies, execution, and expense management. The Senior Finance Manager is expected to perform a mix of traditional financial planning, reporting, and analysis along with taking a hands-on approach to strategy development and execution - both in shorter term initiatives and long-term planning. This role should serve as a critical resource to leaders within the business, grounded in the financials with a thorough and durable understanding of the broader strategic landscape. This role also requires strong partnership with HR, Data & Analytics, Compensation, Strategy and Controllership. This role will require a high degree of focus on the development of direct reports and the broader team.

SUPPORT AND ADMINISTRATION - STRATEGIC PRIORITY

Expense management and containment in Shared Services is a strategic area of focus for KeyBank. In order to support the strategic focus, the Support and Administration team will require a Senior Finance Manager that can help challenge, shape and share that vision and map the journey through financial modeling and metrics, and performance management. Expected responsibilities include:

  • Robust financial scenario planning - In order to contextualize potential technological and people investments and envision the path forward, multiple financial business case scenarios need to be coordinated and built and properly communicated throughout the organization.
  • Robust performance management - An individual in this role would be a driving force behind influencing and in some cases, implementing, robust performance measurements for the business. This includes reimagining financial performance management and reporting, as well as partnering with staff in the supported areas to drive changes that results in improved performance against expense metrics and targets.
  • People leader and developer - This role will be part of the Finance organization, reporting into the Hd. Of Finance Shared Services. As part of the team, an individual would not only be expected to coach and develop their own team, but also analysts and peers on the broader Finance Shared Services team and within the rest of the finance organization.

  • Provision of oversight and accounting knowledge for sound reporting & financial management
  • Development of accurate, driver-based, actionable financial plans and forecasts

  • Critical thinking and thought leadership on business strategies.
  • Proactive competitive surveillance and research to contextualize business strategies.
  • Orchestration of strategic planning process for our businesses & support of broader strategic planning

  • Relationship building with our business leaders, other supporting functions, external parties.
  • Development, review, challenge, and tracking of business initiatives and associated forecasts.
  • Strengthening of performance management routines and culture of accountability
  • Development of an unbiased, holistic, end-to-end view of our business' value chain
*Leadership Functions
  • Active contribution to professional growth of direct reports and our other team members
  • Focus on short- and long-term success of our team and businesses.
  • Contribution of original ideas and proactive efforts to grow our collective knowledge-base.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role preferably within a financial institution
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively with Top Level executives within the company
  • Understand and communication linkage between financial results and other critical business measures
  • Ability to translate conceptual issues into financial estimates and establish reasonable assumptions
  • Posses exceptional written and verbal communication and listening skills and the ability to "sell" his/her ideas to executives within the company
  • Strategically agile to adapt to changing environment
