DevOps Manager

The DevOps Manager will be a vital member of the DevOps Center for Enablement team and will be deeply involved in our DevOps application deployment processes and Azure Cloud strategies. The primary responsibility will be to continue the development and implementation of our DevOps strategies as well as coordinate and implement our application deployments and support our Azure Cloud activities.

Duties/responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve building, packaging, and deployment processes
  • Solution Deployment: Manage all aspects of solution deployment and technical operations
  • Software Delivery: Ensuring seamless software delivery through lifecycles
  • Technical and Business Unit Coordination: Act as a nexus between technical and business teams
  • Infrastructure Management: Deliver and partner with corporate IT for infrastructure management
  • Compliance: Align with security and audit teams to ensure compliance
  • Organizational Policies: Implement and manage organizational policies and procedures
  • Technical Guidance: Provide guidance to team members and help them with technical aspects
  • Research and resolve deployment type issues with our internal and external applications
  • Effectively manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrate occasional flexibility in work hours to ensure critical coverage and facilitate weekend deployments as required.
  • Be available on call (on rotation) in a 24 x 7 support role for critical issue from the international support teams.

Specific knowledge / domain expertise required

  • DevSecOps skills and experience including CI/CD experience at an enterprise level
  • Understanding of Build/Release standard processes preferably within Azure DevOps
  • Azure Cloud experience with the understanding of various IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services
  • Cloud Hub and Spoke Architecture understanding and experience
  • Experience with Terraform based Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Monitoring tool implementation, instrumentation, and configuration.
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Azure Compute, setup and optimization knowledge a strong plus.
  • Experience with APM and Infrastructure performance monitoring tools a strong plus
  • Continual improvement attitude, and rapidly scale to become an SME on unknowns

Education and work experience required

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Accuracy, thoroughness, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred experience

  • Azure IAAS, SAAS, and PAAS experience, understanding of Cloud standard processes
  • Cloud experience including using elastic demand capabilities and zero downtime deployment strategies
  • Automated deployment of database objects

Pay Transparency Laws:

The target salary range for this position is $99,500 to $132,600 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans. The amount of the incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
