Full Time Night Shift Assessment and Referral Counselor to join our team of dedicated professionals.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: To assess the treatment needs of a patient both on the phone and face to face, in order to provide a referral to WLBH programming or other suitable treatment interventions to best meet patient needs; To deliver quality crisis intervention, referral and assessment services to all patient populations typically 7 years of age and older that are experiencing psychiatric, emotional, behavioral and addictive disorders; To support the hospital philosophy of service excellence.

Qualifications

Assessment and Referral Counselor Job Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field, or a bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Mental Health field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family treatment, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Licensure: R.N., L.P.C.C., L..S.W. or applicable license.
  • Additional Requirements: Trained in Non-violent physical crisis intervention and CPR prior to accepting independent assignment or released from orientation.
