Inertial Aerospace Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of a Shipping & Receiving Clerk.

The Shipping & Receiving clerk conducts all working procedures to ensure completion of the shipping & receiving products. The clerk must be able to perform the day to day operations. Provide high level of detail on daily work assignments. Work with internal and external customers to deliver on company objectives for service. Self-motivated to work in environment without direct supervision.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform outgoing shipping/receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments.
  • Determining shipping/receiving priorities, work assignments and shipping/receiving methods required to meet shipping and/or receiving schedule.
  • Arranging transportation that optimizes service and cost.
  • Inspecting loading/unloading operations to ensure compliance with handling requirement specifications.
  • Directing movement of shipments to appropriate work areas.
  • Ensuring shipping/receiving area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors.
  • Ensuring that department is in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures.
  • Investigating and solving customer problems and issues.
  • Compiling and maintaining applicable metrics as required.
  • Maintain data integrity, work accurately and follow all inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Performs other general warehouse duties as requested by Management.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of packaging/shipping supplies.
  • Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that part numbers, quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; process return shipments from customers.
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; document discrepancies or damages and notifies appropriate personnel.
  • Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
  • Follows established departmental policies & procedures.
  • Work closely with the Export Manager to assure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic and Arms Regulations, U.S. Customs and the U.S. Census Bureau in international shipments.
  • Serves as the ACE administrator, and investigates and corrects all compliance errors reported on ACE for exports.
  • Works with designated customs agent to ease passage of shipments through customs.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred plus 3-5 years' experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Previous export experience is preferred.
  • PC skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent math, reading, communication (both verbal and written), and problem solving skills.
  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 80 pounds' solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment.
  • Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Self-motivated, good communication, capable of handling multitasking, capable of working under tight deadline.
  • Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Environment

Moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as working with chemicals
