Manufacturing Manager

Job Description Summary

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility as it relates to performance to include production, cost, and quality control mechanisms. Ensures that schedules and plant metrics are met and system resources are used effectively. Manages staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff. Fosters relationships with interdepartmental resources to meet the required service levels by coordinating strategies, communications, and joint initiatives for the facility.

Job Description

  • Leads product and operations associate outcomes by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching and counseling associates.
  • Communicates job expectation while planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions as it relates to compensation actions while enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieves product and operations operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; identifying, developing, and implementing system improvements.
  • Contributes to product and operations management, plant and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests and also helping others accomplish job results.
  • Manages Plant priorities within their area of responsibility by reviewing customer orders and requirements; analyzing equipment, materials, and associate availability.
  • Resolves production scheduling problems by analyzing reports; reviewing equipment, materials, and associate availability; conferring with production control and developing solutions where risks exist.
  • Prepares production information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree ior combination of equivilent education or experience
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing management - preferably in casting, plastic injection or extrusion
