Job/Internship Description

The Surety Change Management, Communications, and Training Intern, working under direct supervision, provides support to the business unit by completing assigned tasks, including business projects. The role actively participates in training programs and workshops to enhance their skills and knowledge. The role conducts research, analyzes data, and takes responsibility for assigned deliverables. The role collaborates with colleagues and stakeholders, actively participates in team meetings, and demonstrates problem-solving skills. The intern maintains professionalism, builds their professional network, seeks feedback, and continuously seeks opportunities for improvement during the internship.


  • The focus of this internship is to support the Change Management, Communications, and Training for the Surety Technology Transformation project. The most significant deliverable will be to build out a robust communications Sharepoint Online site to ensure the positive employee experience as the organization adopts the new technology and ways of working.
  • Assists the business unit in completing the tasks assigned to them, which will include, but would not be limited to, defined deliverables and related tasks that support the Surety Technology Transformation project.
  • Participates in training programs, workshops, and on-the-job learning opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to the field or industry of the internship. Participates in summer internship program events, including Lunch and Learns.
  • Demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks and projects efficiently and effectively, being open to learning new things and following instructions and guidelines provided by supervisors or mentors.
  • Conducts research, gathers data, and analyzes information relevant to the internship focus or assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate progress, challenges, and ideas, and actively participates in team meetings or discussions.
  • Works on projects that provide opportunity to collaborate with other interns as well as associates in other departments. Identifies and resolves issues or challenges that arise during the internship, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic by being reliable, responsible, and maintaining a positive attitude towards assigned responsibilities. Develops business skills in communication and shadowing other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records, documenting progress, and preparing reports or presentations as required by the internship program or supervisors. Attends business unit meetings as assigned and creates and delivers presentations.
  • Seeks feedback from supervisors or mentors, actively seeking opportunities for improvement, and applying learning to enhance performance throughout the internship.
  • For field roles, only: Expected to drive/travel at least 25% of working time to perform essential functions. This may involve traveling on short notice or other daily driving duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
  • Either actively enrolled in an academic institution in pursuit of a degree in a relevant course of study or is a recent college graduate, typically having attained a degree within the past 12 months.
  • For field roles, only: Valid driver's license and a driving record that conforms to company standards'.
