Job Description

SPIROL Stow, Ohio has a fulltime opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. The qualified candidate will have technical responsibility for the assigned manufacturing processes and be responsible to develop, document and maintain optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products and processes as well as capital equipment projects, and interface with internal and external customers as well as other Engineering staff as needed, at any of SPIROL's locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Have technical ownership of assigned processes: equipment, processes, procedures and troubleshooting.
  2. Develop and maintain high quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes, which are well documented.
  3. Actively investigate technical process and product variances and drive corrective actions to eliminate them.
  4. Recommend and implement continuous improvements to surpass quality, cost and throughput goals.
  5. Research, recommend, document, manage and qualify the purchase, installation and implementation of capital equipment projects.
  6. Manage the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and processes; including establishing goals, developing processes and procedures, training team members and evaluating results.
  7. Promote Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health compliance into processes and procedures.
  8. Develop technical training material to educate employees to effectively execute the manufacturing process.
  9. Plan and document projects and actions in the SPIROL Operations Database.
  10. Represent manufacturing on various cross-functional teams.
  11. Mindset on continuous improvement to increase productivity and maintain/improve current processes.
  12. Strong mindset on problem solving to help keep manufacturing processes moving or returned to production.
  13. Actively work to maintain the relationship between manufacturing and operations to efficiently keep production equipment running and preforming optimally.
  14. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. BSME (Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering) / or significant equivalent experience with at least five years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Proficiency in CAD as well as office automation software and systems.
  3. The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  4. A common sense approach to problem solving and setting priorities is essential.
  5. Background in Machining and Grinding is preferred.
  6. Project Management Experience is preferred.
  7. Lean Manufacturing and 5S experience is preferred.
