Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment which blends/mixes/packages/transports the liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. The production associate ensures safety is their #1 priority; they produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient Corporation policies and procedures.

* Sets up and starts all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.

* Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specification and inserts into machinery

* Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation

* Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues

* Operates machinery to mix, discharge or handle materials according to operating procedure.

* Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards

* May take samples of materials to lab for evaluations and instructions

* Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition

* Performs all required machine cleaning

* Completes and maintains all required computer inputs

* Responsible for data integrity

* Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.

* Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods

* Maintains departmental housekeeping standards

* Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company

* Demonstrates & meets qualification on blending, packaging, weighing operations & fork lift.

* Demonstrates team work in all phases of operation.

* Follows all rules, laws and procedures related to HS&E, ISO and other regulations

* Other projects/duties as assigned or needed

Required Skill:

* Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English

* Must be able to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/materials

* Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to apply these skills to weights, measures of volume and distance.

* Must effectively communicate in writing and verbally in English.

* Competency in computer and PC software including email, internet, and MS office.

* Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.

* Must be able to drive fork lift.

* Must have problem solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.

Required Education & Experience:

* US High School diploma, GED equivalency or equivalent experience

* Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial/manufacturing experience

* moving mechanical parts

* fumes or airborne particles

* noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud noise

* Employees are required to wear mandatory PPE(8 to 12hrs per shift)which include:

* hearing protection when on production floor

* steel toe shoes/boots when on production floor

* specific gloves when performing specific tasks
