This is a 7 on/7 off position that works from 2 pm - midnight. This pharmacist will be stationed in the pediatric emergency department and work as a decentralized pharmacist in that unit (verifying orders, answering questions, medication preparation, running meds from main pharmacy to the unit, assisting with ICU order verification in downtime, etc.)
Position Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective, and cost-effective use of medications through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and professional judgment. The pharmacist serves as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care by considering the patient's disease conditions, background, need for understanding and participation in drug therapy in a fiscally responsible manner. These activities occur in all aspects of pharmacy practice including adult and pediatric inpatient areas, operating room pharmacies, ambulatory oncology and outpatient services (ie., Bolwell Pharmacy). The pharmacist is legally responsible for the review and approval of all activities related to the dispensing of patient specific pharmaceuticals pursuant to a valid prescription or medication order from a practitioner as defined in ORC 4729, 4715, 4731, and/or 4741.
