The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Appointments will be considered for starting dates as early as July 1, 2024.

All applicants must have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and must hold great potential for research leadership, grant funding, teaching excellence and service contributions. The research area of specific interest to this position is in the thematic area synthetic biology, which include but are not limited to:

* Development of new metabolic or regulatory pathways for biologics or biofuels production and/or sustainable manufacturing
* Investigation of novel techniques (e.g., 'omics) to enhance the reach or enable novel applications
* Engineering eukaryotes for living cell therapeutic applications such as for immunomodulation or tissue engineering

The department also has strategic interest in the areas of electrochemical engineering, biomolecular engineering, materials, separations, green manufacturing, and energy. The successful applicant is expected to establish an independent research program with national and international recognition and teach at all levels.
