Primary Responsibilities

We are currently searching for an Electrical Section Manager / Senior Electrical Engineer in Ohio or Western Pennsylvania. This dynamic individual needs to be engaged with clients and the engineering community. This person will be reporting directly to the Building Engineering Lead in Ohio and Western PA.

The position has both an internal and external focus. The external responsibilities include: Represent HDR in the engineering community, participate in speaking engagements, author white papers and technical publications. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Identify pursuit opportunities through personal network. Attend project interviews, contribute to proposal language, and assemble fees. The internal responsibilities include: Setting the goals and direction for the electrical engineers. Develop project workplans, identify staffing requirements, mentor staff, and monitor financial performance of all projects. Lead project teams in the execution of work. Establishment and/or maintenance of engineering quality control processes and procedures.

Additionally, this person needs to be a conceptual thinker who can engage our architectural designers at the early stages of projects to inform the conceptual design.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    - 10 years in the design of engineering systems for large complex buildings,
    - PE required.
    - Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
    - Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Healthcare and/or Education, Science and Technology industries preferred.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Local industry relationships preferred.
