Job Title: Director of Contract Sales

The primary function of this role is to direct and manage all operations of the Sprinkler Contract Sales division. This includes direct management of Norton Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives and dotted-line oversight of Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives at the branch level. Responsible for estimate reviews, new salesmen development, and mentoring sales process. Develop policies and procedures for sales processes and ensure compliance throughout the entire division.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor jobs to bid list.
  • Review selected bids based on risk, value and difficulty.
  • Develop standard format for estimating work.
  • Assist Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives to develop customer relationships and sales techniques.
  • Visit customers with Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives.
  • Perform D Scopes
  • Visit potential customers to develop S.A. Comunale relationships.
  • Interface between accounting and sales for contract opening, closing and billing.
  • Monitor sales-to-date.
  • Make decisions on opportunities to meet competitive pricing to secure the contract / job.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for Norton office Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives.
  • Monitoring and close-out of change orders.
  • Mentor Sprinkler Contract Sales Representatives in branch offices.
  • Review proposals
  • Works hand in hand with the Branch Managers for market strategy based on backlog and available resources.
  • Ensures that hand off meetings are scheduled with design.
  • Assist with labor hours on bid proposals.
  • Review job take offs.

Education / Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, or related field is required.
  • 15+ years of contract sales experience in sprinkler fire protection is required.
  • 10+ years in a management or supervisory role is required.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 13, 17, 17A, 25, and 72.
  • Travel is required.
  • Understanding of fire protection design concepts is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate bid lay out drawings is required.
  • Customer negotiation skills required.
  • NICET certification is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required.

Computer Skills:

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications required.
