Job Description
 
 

The companywide communications manager informs and engages our nearly 43,000 employees dispersed across the country. Setting overarching communications strategy for the organization, you will work with teams of communicators to deliver messages through the intranet and email on topics affecting all employees.  Other responsibilities include supporting members of the executive team, being part of in-person events, and engaging our workforce to help deliver key messages and inspire action on important initiatives.


Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications or related field of study, (i.e., Public Relations, Journalism, English or Marketing), and 8 years of professional experience in Communications or related field (i.e. Journalism, Advertising, Marketing and/or Public Relations), including experience managing a professional work group

  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years property casualty insurance experience or professional experience in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing, including experience managing a professional work group

Preferred skills
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills - strong negotiating and decision-making skills

  • Strategic project management/requirements gathering, planning, and project implementation skills

  • Strong technical skills related to multi-channel media content creation and distribution

  • Excellent managerial, delegation and organizational skills - business acumen, innovation, and self-motivation

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with senior business associates - advise, influence and make sound judgment calls
