Job Description

Great opportunity for full time summer work as a Production Associate! Starting at $16.00 per hour working Monday through Thursday with occasional Fridays.

Job Summary

Avient's seasonal associate opportunities will support peak production times by infusing talented resources in our production departments. Associates will support the set up and operation of equipment which blends / mixes / packages / transports liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. It is critical to ensure the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient Corporation policies and procedures and this role will help to ensure this..

Essential Functions

  • Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specification and inserts into machinery, or ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and inserts pre-blended materials into machinery.
  • Supports Production Operators as they run machinery to mix, extrude, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
  • Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
  • Refers issues / problems to Lead or Shift Supervisor for disposition.
  • Supports all required machine cleaning.
  • Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Separates customer orders. Pulls and stages orders. Repacks material if required to meet customer specifications.
  • As required, makes boxes, packs, labels and locates materials.
  • Ensures all products are properly labeled.
  • May perform functions/transactions in designated system
  • Participates in cycle counting. Enters and verifies information. Researches and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment
  • Abilities in prioritization, multi-tasking and problem solving while maintaining strong attention to detail

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud.
