Job Summary
Avient's Color and Additives US & Canada business is seeking a Plant Manager for its manufacturing site in Lockport, New York.
The Plant Manager is responsible for effectively planning, directing, and coordinating all activities of an assigned manufacturing plant. These responsibilities include safety, environmental, quality, production, cost control and leadership of the site workforce. The Plant Manager for this site will directly supervise 15 personnel and report to the Operations Director.
Essential Functions
- The Plant Manager provides the direction and necessary resources to establish safety and environmental performance that meets established goals for the plant. This includes development and implementation of the proper behavior and attitudes by employees to guarantee excellent performance.
- Develops and implements plans to reduce environmental waste, meet applicable environmental regulations and handle emergencies situations that may occur at the plant.
- Develops a plant-operating plan that is consistent with and supports the annual business plans.
- Ensures that standards for product quality, equipment and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
- Leads plant's Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Develops and manages a capital plan that supports the business strategy and improves plant operations.
- Ensures that the plant achieves its annual operating cost objectives.
- Directs production associates in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure the meeting of all plant objectives.
- Effectively and consistently communicates plant's manufacturing incentive plan goals to employees.
- Ensures subordinate's career development goals are identified and that plans are put in place to support them.
- Effectively represents Avient to the external community, including active involvement in local civic groups, ongoing coordination with regulatory agencies and effective interface with emergency response services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, with preference for engineering, EH&S or manufacturing operations concentration.
- 10 + years' manufacturing industry experience including responsibility for both manufacturing operations and safety procedures.
- 10 + years' cross-functional experience to include problem solving techniques, cost and data management.
- 7 + years' experience with lean six sigma, change management and budget management.
- 7 + years' leadership experience to include managing multiple direct reports.
- Strong preference for 7 + years' experience in plastic or additive manufacturing role. Experience working with Color Concentrates, Colorants or Coatings is a plus.
